Organizing to Restore Good Governance

Organize Ottawa is working to restore good governance, competent leadership, and fiscal responsibility in Ottawa County.

We do this in a few ways:

  • We help people connect with organizing efforts in their County Commission districts.
  • We connect districts with the resources they need to build strong, effective organizations for change.
  • And we keep people informed of what’s happening, what’s ahead, and what they can do through regular emails and social media.

We’re county wide. Multi-partisan. And volunteer driven.

We’re deeply committed to a multi-party approach in our work. Good governance is a value that matters to everyone–regardless of political affiliation. And restoring good governance will take all of us. That’s why we’re intentionally working across party lines to build an alliance for change.

We’re an all-volunteer effort. And we rely on the generosity of many individuals to do our work–at both the county and district levels.

Every district is unique and their organizations reflect that. We help them find their people and the resources they need, and then encourage them to build organizations that reflect their needs and communities. Most follow a model established by the Zeeland Area Action Council–the first district to officially organize and to provide a framework for other districts to do the same.

Get connected with our work.

Together. We can do this.
